Proofreading your manuscript [$.009 - $.019 per word]*

Your manuscript will receive a thorough editing, including all necessary changes to punctuation, grammar, spelling and usage. This is not to be confused with a service that simply provides you with a computer-generated annotated version of your manuscript from which you then make all the changes. Our editors make all changes, corrections, additions and deletions for you. You, of course, retain final say on any point on which you prefer to differ.

Full Text Editing your manuscript [$.016 - $.029 per word]*

Complete copy and text editing, with attention given to every word of your manuscript. We will address not only issues of grammar and usage, but of style as well, with an emphasis on helping you make your thoughts ring with clarity, accuracy and interesting detail.

Rewriting your manuscript [$.018 - $.08]*

Rates vary depending upon the difficulty of the manuscript and the word count. Send 15 pages for us to review after which we can recommend the level of editing service your manuscript appears to require and give you a firm quote.

Indexing

As the Chicago Manual of Style reminds us, "Every serious book of nonfiction should have an index if it is to achieve its maximum usefulness." A quote for charges on indexing services is available upon submission of your manuscript. Indexing will not begin until the galley proof has been completely edited and approved to be sent to the printer - set in stone, as it were. Upon completion of indexing, you will receive an index galley proof for your approval. Format will follow standard Chicago 15 guidelines unless an alternative style is preferred.
